Review of 'The Simpsons Movie'

Sunday, July 4, 2010

It's fourth of July, and it's United States 'Independence Day'. Therefore I intend to watch an U.S cartoon. So I watched the 'The Simpsons Movie' on the internet and I find that it's hilarious at the beginning of the story. This movie was shown 3 years ago. Actually, I watched 'The Simpsons' when I was young, and I always complained why there are kissing and strangling scenes in the show. In this movie, these scenes happened again. The Simpsons is a cartoon that always have crude humor and violence, that's the trademark of United States cartoons.

This movie revolves around the topic, pollution. The Lake Springfield is badly polluted and the city of Springfield was ordered to clean up and bans dump wastes. At the same time, Homer adopts the pig (named Spider Pig) from Krusty Burger after Krusty tried to have him slaughtered.

The funny part is that Homer dumps the silo which contains Spider Pig's waste into Lake Springfield. Homer was not told about the banning of dumping wastes into the lake. Therefore, the EPA placed a large dome over Springfield but the Simpsons family managed to escape through a sinkhole. And they went to Alaska. (haha, Homer received $1000 for entering Alaska) In the end, Marge took her children back to Springfield after watching the news, having the intention to save Springfield. Homer got to know about it and went back later. Homer was able to save Springfield on time by getting the time bomb out of the dome.

I enjoyed the front part of the story best. I guess there's the only movie of 'The Simpsons'. I would prefer the half an hour for each episode better.
